Description
We’re looking for a 2D Concept Artist to help us bring this universe to life - from black‑and‑white book illustrations to enemy packs, cultures, architecture and the visual language of an entire alien civilization.
Responsibilities
- Create black‑and‑white illustrations for a lore book set in the Arkarion universe (atmospheric scenes, characters, locations).
- Design hostile robot concepts: silhouettes, body variations, functional details, tiers of threat.
- Design spider‑/insect‑like monster concepts: anatomy, behavior, lifecycle, and their role in gameplay.
- Create clothing concepts for dozens of cultures: silhouettes, ornaments, materials, social and functional differences.
- Design character concepts: main heroes, NPCs, factions, with clear visual language and personality.
- Develop architectural concepts for the Baji civilization: bunker‑cities, temples, living districts, industrial and military structures.
- Visualize the invented living language of the Baji: scripts, symbols, graphic motifs, and how they appear in architecture, UI and props.
- Design hostile and peaceful zombie concepts: infection stages, roles in the world and gameplay, readable silhouettes.
- Create interior and bunker‑city design concepts: layout sketches, key areas, faction‑based visual codes.
- Work from written briefs, lore documents and references provided by game and narrative design.
- Participate in style discussions, present options, and iterate quickly based on feedback.
Expectations
- Examples of work with: or characters, or creatures/monsters, or environments and architecture; ideally - sci‑fi or dark fantasy themes, or post-apocalyptic survival.
- Solid fundamentals in drawing: anatomy, light and shadow, composition.
- Ability to create quick sketches and refine them into clean concepts (lineart / values / color).
- Ability to follow and maintain a consistent project art style and work within art guidelines.
- Experience preparing concept art for 3D (orthographic views, call‑outs, material breakdowns).
- Experience in game development or large‑scale IPs (RPGs, survival games, strategy titles) are a plus.
- Passion for worldbuilding and designing cultures and fictional languages visually are a plus.
- Experience with black‑and‑white illustration for books/comics are a plus.
- Experience preparing concept art for 3D (orthographic views, call‑outs, material breakdowns) are a plus.
